Canva AI & Video Basics
A Professional Development Workshop Series with Aries Art NW

Smart Tools for Faster, More Dynamic Content! This hands-on session introduces participants to Canva’s AI-powered tools and built-in video features, designed to help you create engaging content more efficiently — even without prior video or AI experience.

Ideal for small business owners, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, content creators, and anyone curious about using Canva’s newer tools, this workshop focuses on practical, ethical, and approachable ways to incorporate AI and video into your design workflow. You’ll learn how to enhance your content without sacrificing authenticity, brand voice, or creative control.

Participation in Parts 1 or 2 is not required, though a basic familiarity with Canva will help you get the most out of this session. Registration is $10 and is limited to 8 people!

You’ll learn how to:

  • Create and edit simple videos in Canva for social media, websites, and promotions
  • Use Canva’s AI tools to generate design ideas, text, layouts, and visual elements
  • Maintain brand voice and visual consistency when working with AI-assisted tools
  • Understand ethical considerations and best practices when using AI-generated content
  • Combine video, animation, text, and graphics into cohesive, engaging designs
  • Repurpose existing designs into short-form video content efficiently
  • Export, resize, and share video content correctly for different platforms

Perfect for:

  • Businesses wanting to expand into video content
  • Social media managers & marketers
  • Creatives curious about AI tools without the overwhelm
  • Anyone looking to save time while improving visual impact

Laptops are not required, but are encouraged for participants who wish to follow along in real time, hands-on. Canva Pro is not required for participation; however, some features covered in the workshop are part of Canva Pro and will be referenced for learning purposes.

This workshop is part of a 3-part series taught by Mindie Gum-Grivell of Aries Art NW; participation in all sessions is not required but encouraged for getting the most from Canva!
